Exploring the White Domed Church - Sacré-Cœur Basilica

Sacré-Cœur Basilica is a Roman Catholic church in Paris, named after the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Located on Montmartre Hill in the northern part of Paris, it was designed by Paul Abadie and features an eclectic architectural style combining Roman and Byzantine elements. It is also one of the most iconic landmarks in Paris. The building material of Sacré-Cœur Basilica, travertine stone, continuously exudes calcite, allowing the church to maintain its pristine white appearance despite pollution or weathering. The basilica is characterized by five domes and an 80-meter bell tower. The interior of the church also showcases Byzantine-style architecture, with stained glass windows, dome paintings, and a grand organ—all worth admiring in detail.
