As of the 2017 census, it had a population of 6,591 residents .  ⸻ 📍 Location & Geography Kafr Dan is situated on the slopes of the hills, just east of Al-Yamun and north of Burqin. The village stands at an elevation of 188 meters above sea level .   ⸻ 🏺 Historical Background • Ancient Roots: Archaeological findings in Kafr Dan include pottery remains from the Roman, Byzantine, Early Islamic periods, and the Middle Ages, indicating a long history of habitation .  • Ottoman Era: Incorporated into the Ottoman Empire in 1517, Kafr Dan was part of the Turabay Emirate. The 1596 Ottoman tax records list the village as “Kafradan,” with nine Muslim households paying taxes on agricultural products like wheat, barley, olives, goats, and beehives .  • British Mandate Period: Under British administration, the village’s population grew from 486 in 1922 to 850 by 1945.
