The fountain built in 1554 was originally placed in a private garden in Florence. In 1581, the government of Palermo bought it and placed it in front of a palace in the main square. At that time, a group of devout believers could not accept the multiple naked statues next to the fountain, so the fountain was also called the "Fountain of Shame" 🔶Quattro Canti 🔶 This place is very special💛The three-story building in the photo (with a statue on each of the upper two floors and a fountain on the lower floor) is actually located at a crossroads. The four corners of the intersection have the same architectural design.
