Khao Chong Lom, Nakhon Nayok

Khao Chong Lom is located in “Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam” (Ban Tha Dan, Hin Tang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Nayok Province). It is a small mountain behind the Khun Dan Dam, which is the same forest as Khao Yai National Park, a world heritage forest. Some of the water sources from Khao Yai Forest flow into the lake or reservoir of Khun Dan Dam. Every year, around June-September, the water level in Khun Dan Dam drops. Coupled with the rain that falls, it creates moisture and revives the grasslands to become green again, causing Khao Chong Lom and other places in the dam to reveal the beauty hidden under the water, whether it is grasslands, streams, rocks, until it becomes another prominent tourist attraction near Bangkok. Tourists like to take a boat to see interesting things in the lake of this dam (with a fee). “Khao Chong Lom” is nicknamed “Thai Greenland”.
