Parking and restroom facilities are available by the lake. ⸻ 📝 Personal Experience Blue Lake was the most relaxing stop during my Rotorua trip. No majestic volcanoes, no need for full hiking gear—just a pair of comfortable shoes, and you can easily walk around the lake in about 1.5 hours. The lake water is so clean it sparkles, shifting between shades of blue and green. You can even catch glimpses of Green Lake in the distance, adding layers to the scenery. Some parts of the trail hug the lakeside, with the shimmering water right at your feet—truly therapeutic. The entire trail is flat and easy to navigate, passing through forests, beaches, and camping areas. Along the way, you'll often see locals swimming or picnicking by the lake, creating a very chill atmosphere. My favorite spot was a wide grassy area halfway through the trail.
