I heard that you have to come at 8 am to avoid queuing, but we came a little after 8 am and the fourth group was quite fast. The menu is very special and you can choose a large or small bowl of rice and three or four kinds of seafood. We ordered a large bowl of rice with crab, shrimp and salmon. It is more expensive than the Hakodate Morning Market Donburi, about 800-1000 yen, but the crab meat is bigger and more solid, the shrimp is also bigger, it tastes very fresh, and there is enough rice. It was originally vinegar rice. If you want white rice, you can ask the store to change it. Here comes the point! We splurge and ordered a flower crab. There are two types as shown in the photo, one is a flower crab and the other is a hairy crab. If you are sure you want to buy them, the owner will even let you taste them. After eating them, we prefer the taste of the flower crab, and it is easier to remove. I personally don't like hairy crabs because they are really hairy and a bit disgusting to eat, haha. After you choose what crabs you have, the owner will weigh them for you. He weighed two for us, one for 18,000 yen and the other for 15,100 yen. We chose the 15,100 yen one. After making your choice, you have to pay first. You may not want it, but he will cook it. Then it was our turn to go into the store to eat the crabs waiting for us. The clerk was very considerate and after the crab was cooked, he would bring the whole crab to you for you to take a photo! They will help you cut it later. It is cut very well and is very convenient to eat. The whole shell is opened and the meat is separated just right, not sticky at all. It is really delicious but it was a little cold when we ate it.
