A charming island surrounded by the Yoron Blue sea

A small island in Kagoshima Prefecture, located just north of the northernmost tip of Okinawa's main island. Access is by plane or ferry from Okinawa or Kagoshima. From Tokyo, we recommend flying with a transfer in Okinawa. It's a small island that you can circle in the blink of an eye, but it's surrounded by a beautiful ocean called Yoron Blue, and you can see colorful fish and sea turtles by snorkeling. At night, you can enjoy the Milky Way, a star-filled sky that looks like it might fall at any moment, with the naked eye. The warm and simple people on the island are also a big part of the island's charm. People tend to skip Yoron Island and head to Okinawa, but this is a wonderful island that is definitely worth visiting for those who want a different way of spending time than luxuriously constructed resorts. #YoronIsland
