Visiting the city where World War II first started

#2024mapped On 1939, German initiated an attack on Gdansk, marking the start of WWII. By the end of 1939, 90% of the city was brought down to pieces. What I was seeing was the deliberate reconstruction, which many said, intentionally deviate from how it originally looked like and German influences, so at quite many places, the old town area looked just like another famous harbour city: Amsterdam. Transportation tips: It’s reachable by train in about 3hrs from both Poznan and Warsaw. One good thing I love of Poland train is that it remains pretty much the same price even till the last minute before train departs; however, ticketing is only open 1 month ahead of time. Accommodation tips: If you’re staying inside the old town, you might not wanna carry a large suitcase, unless you’re a strong man in full health, coz the brick roads are not the smoothest for rollers.
