About accommodation During the peak season, grassland hotels are quite expensive since they only operate for a few months a year. Don't expect too much from the hotels. A hotel with an average price of 1500 yuan per night is roughly equivalent to a 200 yuan guesthouse in a small county. I brought half a suitcase of disposable four-piece sets and disposable bath towels to cope. The Kexeniya B&B in Shiwei was particularly liked by the kids, with a loft-style room suitable for playing hide and seek. The breakfasts at these hotels were very basic: a bowl of porridge, a hard bun, and an egg—very simple but sufficient. We also experienced a dry toilet on the grassland, which was unforgettable. The charm of the grassland lies in making you forget the time and the hustle and bustle of work, immersing yourself completely in nature. It's extremely comfortable and definitely worth taking the kids to experience a completely different culture and customs.
