It was a trip to Okayama, Japan 🇯🇵 Okayama is a stunning destination with a blend of history, nature, and modern charm. We spent a few days exploring the city and found it to be a treasure trove of photo-worthy spots 😍 From beautiful gardens to iconic historical sites, here’s our itinerary with the best places to snap your perfect shot 📸 Our first stop was the breathtaking Korakuen Garden🪴one of Japan’s three most famous gardens. We wandered through this expansive landscape, taking in the serene ponds, beautiful bridges, and lush greenery 🌱 The traditional Japanese tea house 🏡 provided a lovely backdrop, while the views of Okayama Castle 🏰 from the garden were absolutely stunning. I’d recommend visiting in either spring for the cherry blossoms or autumn for the colorful foliage 🙌 📍1-5-1 Koraku, Kita Ward, Okayama 700-0823, Japan After the peaceful garden 🪴 we explored Okayama Castle, known as “Crow Castle” due to its striking black exterior. The castle offers fantastic photo opportunities 📸 both from the outside and inside. We loved capturing the views from the top of the castle 🏰 where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the entire city and Korakuen Garden 🪴 The juxtaposition of the modern city with the ancient castle makes for a truly unique photograph 🙌 We recommend visiting early in the morning to catch the soft sunrise light on the castle ✨ 📍2-3-1 Marunouchi, Kita Ward, Okayama 700-0823, Japan For a unique historical experience, we visited the Shimamatsu Tumulus, a burial mound surrounded by peaceful greenery 🌱 It’s not as crowded as other tourist sites, which made it a perfect spot for a quiet walk and some contemplative photography 📸 The mound is surrounded by ancient trees 🌳 and depending on the time of year, various flowers 🌺 and plants bloom nearby.
