#mytraveldiary My visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens this October was an absolute highlight of my trip to Colorado. I’ve seen fall foliage back East, but this was an entirely different experience—it was crisp, clean, and utterly breathtaking. You can immediately feel the high-altitude light; it's sharp and bright, making every color pop. I spent most of the afternoon walking through the Shade Garden and along the central promenade, and the intensity of the golden aspens and maples set against the deep blue, mile-high sky was unforgettable. The gardeners here are masters of texture, too; they contrast the vibrant gold with the dusty copper and bronze hues of the native ornamental grasses and dried perennials. It wasn't just a garden walk; it felt like a sophisticated botanical journey through the Rocky Mountain foothills.
