In March of this year, I embarked on a fantastic 4-day journey to Ningbo, a coastal city in the south of the Yangtze River. Come along with me! 🌆 Ningbo, located on the coast of the East China Sea, is a famous historical and cultural city. In March, Ningbo enjoys a gentle spring breeze and warm sunshine. The streets are filled with budding greenery and blooming flowers. From the Tianyi Pavilion, a sacred place of books with thousands of years of cultural heritage, to the exotic modern architecture of the Old Bund, and the mouthwatering delicacies like Tangyuan and rice cakes, every bite is filled with the warmth and delicacy of Ningbo. The blend of history and modernity exudes unique charm from every corner. 🚌 Transportation Guide: ✈️ After arriving at Ningbo Lishe International Airport, airport buses and subways are readily available to quickly transport you to the city center. Within the city, the subway covers most major attractions, supplemented by buses that take you through the city's streets and alleys. If you want to go to suburban scenic spots like Dongqian Lake, taking a special bus line or a taxi is very convenient, allowing you to enjoy the idyllic scenery and picturesque lakes and mountains along the way😃. 🎯 Recommended Itinerary: Day 1-2: Ningbo City Center - Tianyi Pavilion - Moon Lake Park - Old Bund Day 1: Morning: Stepping into Tianyi Pavilion is like entering an ancient treasure trove of knowledge. This is the oldest existing library in China. Walking in the courtyard, looking at the ancient buildings, exquisite gardens, and the vast collection of books, you can almost hear the echoes of history, feel the elegance of past scholars, and immerse yourself in the rich scholarly atmosphere. Noon: Enjoy Ningbo Tangyuan nearby. Bite into the round, plump Tangyuan, and the sweet black sesame filling flows out. The soft outer layer and rich filling blend perfectly, leaving a lingering fragrance and dispelling fatigue. Afternoon: Visit Moon Lake Park, where the water is crystal clear, willows sway by the lake, and pavilions and terraces are scattered throughout. Stroll along the lake, admire the scenery, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of spring. In the evening, head to the Old Bund, where the European-style buildings take on a special charm under the lights. Bars and restaurants line the streets, offering a blend of exotic and local Ningbo characteristics, showcasing the vibrant nightlife of Ningbo. Day 2: Morning: Visit Moon Lake Park again, and capture the shimmering beauty of the lake in the early morning light. The people exercising in the park bring it to life, starting a day full of energy. Noon: Enjoy a Ningbo home-style meal in the city center. Try the pickled mustard greens with yellow croaker. The tender yellow croaker is paired with salty and fresh pickled mustard greens, and after steaming, the fish melts in your mouth. The flavor of the pickled mustard greens is just right, highlighting the deliciousness of Ningbo cuisine. Afternoon: After a short rest, visit the Ningbo Museum. The museum has a rich and diverse collection, from ancient porcelain and calligraphy and paintings to objects reflecting the modern development of Ningbo, showcasing the historical changes of Ningbo and allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the ocean of knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the city's past and present. Day 3: Dongqian Lake - Hanling Old Street Morning: Head to Dongqian Lake, enjoying the idyllic scenery along the way. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a vast, sparkling lake surrounded by mountains, like a natural landscape painting. You can choose to take a boat tour, feel the lake breeze, and admire the scenery along the shore. Noon: Enjoy the fresh seafood near Dongqian Lake, such as herring and white shrimp. The ingredients are fresh and simply cooked, yet incredibly fragrant. Afternoon: Walk to Hanling Old Street, a quaint old street with winding cobblestone paths and traditional handicraft shops and snack stalls. Try Ningbo rice cakes, which are soft and chewy, whether fried or boiled. Experience the rich local atmosphere. Day 4: Nantang Old Street - Return Trip Morning: Visit Nantang Old Street, which retains many buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, exuding the charm of ancient streets and alleys. Stroll through the street, sample various Ningbo snacks, such as Youzanzi and Longfeng Jintuan, and experience Ningbo's traditional food culture, concluding this trip perfectly. Noon: After a simple lunch on the old street, embark on your return journey, filled with memories and fondness for Ningbo. 🌟 Must-sees: 📍 Tianyi Pavilion's Treasure Book Building: Take a photo in front of the ancient Treasure Book Building with the lush garden as a backdrop to capture Ningbo's most iconic cultural image and leave a stunning travel memory. Whether it's sunny or drizzling, the scenery is unique. 📍 Old Bund Catholic Church: Take photos with the magnificent Catholic Church, brilliant lights, and European-style buildings as a backdrop to capture the exotic atmosphere of Ningbo. 💕 Travel Experience: This four-day trip to Ningbo was a feast of culture and cuisine. The profoundness of Tianyi Pavilion and the beauty of Dongqian Lake immersed me in the charm of Ningbo; the sweetness of Tangyuan and the softness of rice cakes made me fall in love with this city. Ningbo in March won me over with its gentleness and vitality.
