Long Son Pagoda

Chùa Long Sơn Pagoda is the main Buddhist temple located in Nha Trang. Previously, it was called "Dang Long Tu" ("slowly flying dragon"), but after the hurricane of 1900, which almost completely destroyed the pagoda, it was moved to the city center at the foot of the mountain and received its new current name. ✅ In 1963, there was a mass self-immolation of monks protesting against the US policy that supported the regime of the first president of South Vietnam. 🛤️There is a road from the pagoda, located along the hill and leading to a concrete statue of Buddha, which was installed in 1965. The height of the statue is 24 meters. In front of it are two sculptures of dragons 7.20 meters long. 🪷Inside the Buddha there is the main ceremonial hall decorated with images with modern interpretations of classical Buddhist motifs. To get to the Buddha, you need to climb 152 stone steps. In addition to the statue of Buddha sitting on a lotus, there is also a statue of a reclining (peaceful) Buddha on the territory of the complex. I really liked this temple complex ❤️#nhatrang
