The thousand-year history of the Cham Towers in Nha Trang

🏯🌳The Po Nagar Cham Towers in Nha Trang, Vietnam (commonly known as the Cham Towers), were built between the 7th and 12th centuries. They are one of the precious relics left from the Champa Kingdom period (Champa; 137-1697 years) and are a thousand-year-old ancient tower. It is a small group of Hindu buildings, known as the Vietnamese version of Angkor Wat, but on a much smaller scale. The deity worshipped here is the Hindu sky goddess, who protects fishermen for a bountiful and safe return from the sea, equivalent to Mazu in the hearts of Chinese fishermen. Vietnamese history is often referred to as the war history between the Yue people in the north and the Cham people in the south, but it is actually a history of the clash between the Han culture in the north and the Indian culture in the south.
