Walking the Cheng Tian Zen Temple Trail to Tung Blossom Park

The Cheng Tian Zen Temple Trail spans approximately 3.7 kilometers, surrounded by native forest trees that provide a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere. Along the trail, numerous tung trees are scattered, and during April and May, when the tung blossoms are in full bloom, the distant mountains and treetops are adorned with snow-white flowers. The trail itself appears to be covered in a blanket of white petals, making it one of the most popular spots in northern Taiwan for viewing tung blossoms. As you hike towards Cheng Tian Zen Temple, you may encounter pilgrims on their way to the temple. This solemn and serene Zen temple is not only a place for worship but also a great spot to stroll around its surroundings. From the temple's front courtyard, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Taipei Basin and Guanyin Mountain. Adjacent to Cheng Tian Zen Temple, there is another trail that connects to Tung Blossom Park. During the limited "May Snow" season, the falling tung blossoms create a mesmerizing scene, evoking the sentiment of "Fallen petals are not heartless; they turn into spring soil to nurture the flowers."
