If you are looking for place to go during this summer, Wulai Waterfall is another place to consider. Not only easy to go, the scenery is absolutely incredible. You can take a scenic train from the gate to the waterfall. There are some cafes and restaurants nearby. Also, you can enjoy sailling yayak here. (Sadly, there was heavy rain when I visited this place. I didn't sail yayak.) Don't forget the check the weather hourly!
