[Kagawa] Naoshima part.1

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip Naoshima Town is a town in Kagawa Prefecture and belongs to Kagawa County. It is made up of the islands of the Naoshima Islands, centered on Naoshima, which floats in the Seto Inland Sea. Naoshima, known as the island of art, is about an hour away by ferry from Takamatsu Port, or about 30 minutes by high-speed boat. There are three villages on the island: Miyanoura, where the ferry departs and arrives; Honmura, which was originally a castle town from the Warring States period; and Tsumuura, a fishing port. It has flourished as a key point for maritime traffic since the Edo period, and the old townscape that evokes that time is in perfect harmony with modern art. It is convenient to get around the island by bus or rental bicycle. As soon as you get off the boat, you will see the "red pumpkins." The "Red Pumpkin" is one of the important motifs in Yayoi Kusama's work. The polka dots on the surface of the pumpkin are partially hollowed out, so you can enter the inside.
