The Land of the Six Dynasties, the City of Emperors

🗺️When you open the 5,000-year-old history of China, Nanjing is sure to leave a mark. The ancient capital of the Six Dynasties (Wu, Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, and Chen) has given this city a rich cultural heritage. When I was young, I didn't have much of a feeling for it, but now that I'm back, I can finally appreciate the charm of Jinling City. 🏛️Some say that going to a local museum is the fastest and most accurate way to get to know a city. When you walk into the Nanjing Museum, you can feel the city's emphasis on culture and education. ⛩️"Visiting Nanjing is like visiting an antique shop, where there are traces of time everywhere." Just like Jiming Temple, it is said that "there are 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties, and many buildings are in the misty rain." Hundreds of temples in Jiangnan have long since fallen into disrepair with the change of dynasties, but the first temple of the "480 temples" still stands tall, forming a wonderful contrast between the old and the new, the ancient and the modern, with the modern skyscrapers in the city of Nanjing. 🏯The magnificent Ming City Wall is a beautiful postcard of Nanjing. If you look closely, you will find that each brick and tile has its own unique mark, carrying a piece of history and evoking endless reverie about the ancients. 🎇When it comes to the beauty of Nanjing, the poetic and picturesque Qinhuai River is a must-see. The banks of the Qinhuai River at night are the liveliest places in the city, with the shimmering river and the colorful scenery, which have intoxicated many literati and talented scholars. 🗿Half of the history of the Republic of China is in Jinling City. In 1912, Mr. Sun Yat-sen was inaugurated as the provisional president of the Republic of China at the Presidential Palace in Nanjing. His favorite inscription was "The world is for the public." His ideals, goals, and spirit are all condensed in these four words, and he fought for them all his life. ⛰️In 1925, Mr. Sun passed away and was buried in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Purple Mountain. The tomb faces south, and from a high vantage point, you can see the magnificent mountains and rivers of the motherland. 🌿Nanjing is romantic, while other ancient capitals condense history into palaces, Nanjing integrates history into nature. Nanjing is also tragic because there is a place here that records the pain. 🕯️During the War of Resistance Against Japan, 300,000 compatriots in Nanjing were massacred, leaving a permanent scar in the hearts of the Chinese people. But even with an unbearable past, Nanjing is still as gentle as water, welcoming visitors from all over the world with open arms. 🌆This city, with its rivers and mountains, has a unique charm that has endured the vicissitudes of time and the glory and shame of a thousand years, and how can one not be fascinated by it?
