Purple Mountain Climbing Guide

Speaking of Nanjing, we have to mention Purple Mountain, also known as Zhongshan. In ancient times, it was called Jinling Mountain, Jiang Mountain, Beishan Mountain, Shenlie Mountain, Shengyou Mountain, etc. It is one of the four famous mountains in the south of the Yangtze River and has the reputation of "Jinling Yuxiu". As a famous mountain and river, it has naturally left many footprints of people since ancient times. Today we won’t talk about history, we will only talk about mountaineering, and we will only introduce the mountaineering route strategy. route: ① Yingtuo Village hiking route: Entrance: Next to Exit 1 of Jiangwangmiao Station of Metro Line 4. Route: Jiangwangmiao Station-crossing the fire break zone-to the top of the mountain. The entrance of this line is next to the subway station and is currently very popular. The whole journey is short and is expected to take the least time. It is almost entirely steps. The first half of the climb is gentle, while the second half is steep and challenging. There are no supply points in the middle (you may encounter vendors at the foot of the mountain and near the top), so it may not be suitable for the weak. ②Taipingmen Mountaineering Line: Entrance: Taiping Gate. Route: Taipingmen - Observatory Road - Observatory - West Majao - Peak. Next to the entrance of this line is Baima Park and Xuanwu Lake. There are many tourists and it is a very lively line. ③Huatai Mountaineering Line: Entrance: Taipingmen or towards Lake Biwa. Route: Taipingmen Road-ropeway parking lot, east staff canteen-Xima Yao-top of the mountain. This route is relatively quiet, but there are steep slopes along the way, making the climb quite strenuous. ④Itakura Street Hiking Line: Entrance: Next to the community at No. 49 Bancang Street. Route: Bancang Street - Cuizhu Music Stage - Observatory Road - Observatory - Xima Yao - Peak. This line is about 4 kilometers long, with some steep slopes and long gentle slopes in the middle. It starts from Observatory Road and coincides with the Taipingmen Line. ⑤Slide park climbing line: Entrance: Purple Mountain Adventure Park. Route: Near Purple Mountain Adventure Park - Zhongshan Academy - Yongmulu - Zhongmayao - Top of the Mountain. This line has relatively little traffic and is somewhat challenging. ⑥Maqun North Mountaineering Route: Entrance: East entrance of Zhongshan Scenic Area. Route: East entrance of Zhongshan Scenic Area - Fan Hongxian's Tomb - Yongcuiting - East Majao - Middle Majao - Top of the Mountain. This line is the longest, about 5 kilometers, with a gentle slope, relatively quiet, and more suitable for walking. The above is the main climbing route.
