The hearth of Fujian

Finally managed to see the tulou buildings first hand. It was a truly amazing. Mid april seems to be a good time to go as there was almost no other tourists around. Firstly we saw the Taxia building that is more than 700 years. The tulou is 5 stories tall and people still live here they say. Mainly older people left as the young people have moved away for work and the kids are in boarding schools according to the lady giving us the tour inside. After this we saw the Tianluokeng. It’s super cool from the outside and there are viewing platforms below and on top of the buildings. We stayed in a homestay in a Tulou. It was a super cool experience that we will remember for life. So happy to finally have seen these cool buildings and neighborhoods in Fujian province. #familytrip #localguides #china #fujiantulou
