Charming Nakuru Countryside Hotel in Kenya

During our Kenya 🇰🇪 wildlife migration trip, we stayed at the serene and elegant Ziwa Bush Lodge, located northwest of Lake Nakuru. We spent a warm and refreshing night there. Before coming to East Africa, I didn't have high expectations for local accommodations, thinking they would be just passable. However, apart from the first two days of average lodging, the subsequent accommodations were quite surprising, including the tranquil Ziwa Bush Lodge. 📍Address: Njoro, Nakuru, Baruti West, Nakuru, 20100, Kenya. The hotel is surrounded by cornfields and can be reached via a bumpy dirt road. There is also an orphanage nearby. ⭐️Hotel Design and Layout: The lodging consists of individual cottages with high-pitched thatched roofs, randomly distributed among shrubs and lawns, connected by country paths. The surrounding shrubs add a sense of privacy. Most cottages face open lawns with swings, slides, and a volleyball net, as well as an inviting small pool. On sunny days, you can see adorable geese, adding to the charm. ⭐️Cottage Rooms: The cottages are very spacious with high ceilings, featuring rugged and wild African design elements everywhere: traditional wood carvings, woodcut paintings, and animal-themed furniture handles. The entire room is characterized by its grand scale. The front hall has a large double bed, and the back hall has two single beds, comfortably accommodating four adults. The bathroom is also surprisingly large, with a wide and long sink that can hold all your makeup and skincare products. There's even a long wooden bench inside where you can sit and read before or after a shower. 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Each cottage has Wi-Fi, although the internet speed slows down at night. There's also an electric kettle for boiling water at any time, but unlike typical business hotels, there is no hairdryer. The hotel restaurant has a very chill atmosphere, with a fireplace at the entrance for warmth in the evening. Both dinner and breakfast can be pre-ordered, and the food is quite exquisite, with unlimited coffee and tea available.
