Okinawa | Nago's Hidden Beach: Enjoy the Crystal-Clear Waters of Higashi-Ebi Coast

Okinawa is famous for its many beaches, but the crowds can sometimes make it hard to take photos or relax under the sun. This time, I ventured north to Nago, specifically to the Higashi-Ebi area just before entering Nago City. Here lies a beach known only to locals—Higashi-Ebi Beach. During a rare sunny day amidst the rainy season, this beach revealed its golden fine sand at low tide. The sand is soft and gentle underfoot, not rough at all. Even though it's already late May, the seawater is still a bit chilly. The crystal-clear water, combined with the layers of fine sand, creates a stunning gradient of blue. I grabbed a chilled drink from a nearby convenience store and enjoyed the rare sunshine on the beach. To prevent sand erosion, the beach is surrounded by seawalls on both sides. Standing on the seawalls offers a unique perspective of the ocean. As the sun sets, the view becomes even more unforgettable. The area is incredibly convenient, with nearby hotels, ice cream shops, restaurants, and convenience stores.
