🇯🇵Nagasaki｜Glover Garden． A cluster of retro Western-style mansions and a great place to take photos

Nagasaki is famous for its fusion of Japanese and Western cultures. Glover Garden is a complex of old residences of famous Western merchants and some Western-style buildings. It is also an important place for trade exchanges between Nagasaki and the West. It contains a lot of important history of Nagasaki. Therefore, many people say that if you haven’t been to Glover Garden, it’s like you haven’t been to Nagasaki! ⭐️Former Mitsubishi No. 2 Dock House You will see this building right from the entrance. It was completed in 1896 and used as a dormitory for employees of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Nagasaki Shipyard's Pier No. 2. Now models of various ships and precious photos are displayed inside. As the highest point in the park, the view overlooking Nagasaki Port from the second floor is very beautiful, but unfortunately the weather was bad on the day of the visit. ⭐️Former Walker House (Former Walker House) The home's former owner was Chamber of Commerce boss Robert Neill Walker, a pioneer in the Japanese shipping industry and soft drinks. BANZAI soda (バンザイサイダー) is the old-fashioned soda water they produce. ⭐️Old Alt House (Old Alt House) The former owner of this house was William J. Alt, a famous tea businessman who brought Japanese tea to the world through the green tea trade. Alt House is a very outstanding Western-style building in the late Edo period and Meiji period. Its magnificent eaves and neatly arranged stone pillars look very impressive. The furnishings and decorations in the house are all kept in a retro style, as if going back in time. ⭐️Old Liberty Pavilion (Old Liberty Pavilion) Jiyutetsu is a restaurant opened by the first Japanese Western cuisine chef, Kusano Takekichi.
