Matsushiro

Historical town with various attractions to spend the whole day exploring on foot. Yes, on foot exploration is the best despite the distance. Take a bus from Nagano station (bus 30 for Matsushiro). It’s more worth to buy a day pass from Nagano bus station for JPY1300 which covers Zenkoji and Matsushiro. The bus ride is about 30 min. Alight at Matsushiro Eki stop and adventure starts. I want to go to Thailand this year. #2024wish

Zuishin Gate

[Togakushi, Nagano] A journey through the cedar trees into sacred grounds: A journey to reconcile your soul at Togakushi Shrine Okusha 🌲✨ Togakushi Shrine Okusha, located in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, is a mystical shrine nestled at the foot of the Togakushi mountain range. Believed to have been founded before Christ, it enshrines Ameno Tajikarao no Mikoto, the god who opened the rock cave in the legend of Ama-no-Iwato. Located at the innermost of the five Togakushi shrines, it truly deserves to be called the "realm of the gods." From the entrance to the approach, the cedar trees stretch for approximately 2km, lined with giant trees over 400 years old, and just walking along them is enough to cleanse the soul. At the midpoint, you'll find the Zuishinmon Gate, and from there, the sacredness of the path increases dramatically. The path to the Okusha is a somewhat steep slope, but the shrine building at the end is truly majestic. The dignified atmosphere permeates the silence, helping you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 📌 Useful Information Address: 3690 Togakushi, Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture Access: Approximately 1 hour bus ride from JR Nagano Station, then a 40-minute walk from the "Okusha Iriguchi" bus stop. Clothing: Comfortable shoes and warm clothing are essential. Nearby Food: Famous Togakushi soba restaurants, such as Uzuraya and Sobanomi, are dotted around the area. Togakushi Shrine Okusha is also popular as a power spot. Why not take a leisurely stroll through the cedar-lined streets with your spouse and feel the presence of nature and the gods? #TogakushiShrine #Okusha #NaganoTourism #TogakushiSoba #PowerSpot #CoupleTrip #ShinshuTrip #HealingForest #0YenTrip2025Autumn
