Also nicknamed as "The Island of the Winds" for the breezy strong island winds, Mykonos is well known for its vibrant nightlife and summer party atmosphere, in addition to whitewashed buildings, historical architecture, colourful maze of alleyways, upscale shops and a beautfiul beachline. We will highlight a few instagram worthy spots in this post. - Mykonos Town : Chora Explore the famous narrow maze of cobberstone streets, done to confuse raiding pirates in the past. Now an insta spot along the beautiful whitewashed houses as backdrop. - Kato Mili Windmills Iconic row of 16th-century white windmills with thatched roofs set on top of a hill. Initially used for grinding grain, they have since been converted into homes, storage facilities and accomodation for travellers. - Panagia Paraportiani Church A must visit historical landmark of 5 churches. - Petros the Pelican, the official Mykonos mascot for Mykonos. A large pelican that wanders around freely amongst the walkways, restaurants and waterfront. Try and catch a shot ! - Little Venice A row of cafes with balconies, trendy boutiques and souvenir shops that overlook the water. - Old Harbour Port Enjoy the picturesque row of restaurants by the shoreline - Paradise and Super Paradise Beaches Famous summer rave party spots, lined with multiple dance clubs and restaurants.
