Archaeological site of Mycenae 🇬🇷

#summerdestinations I spent a day exploring the Archaeological Site of Mycenae during my summer vacation, and it was absolutely incredible. Located in the heart of the Greek countryside, about 90 minutes from Athens, this ancient site is a must-see for history enthusiasts. The entrance fee was €12, which was well worth it given the grandeur of the ruins and the historical significance. 🏛️ Walking through the Lion Gate and seeing the remnants of the ancient palace was like stepping back in time. The massive walls and intricate artifacts offer a glimpse into Mycenaean civilization that’s both awe-inspiring and humbling. Nearby, the Tomb of Agamemnon (or the Treasury of Atreus) is another highlight, showcasing impressive beehive-shaped architecture.
