Solemnity and Elegance Coexist｜Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Oman

As the first stop of my trip to Oman, this Islamic sanctuary built of pure white sandstone instantly captured my heart. The title of the world's third largest mosque is well-deserved—the main hall features a 14-meter-long Swarovski crystal chandelier, and beneath it lies a Persian carpet woven by 600 women over four years, with every pattern telling a story of devotion and craftsmanship. Photography tip: Arrive at 8:30 AM when soft light filters through the perforated dome, casting shadows that intertwine with the geometric patterns of the carpet. Wearing a plain-colored long robe and leaning against a pillar, you can easily capture sophisticated, high-end photos. 📌 Tips: Non-Muslim visitors should note the opening hours (Saturday to Thursday 8:30 AM–11:00 AM, closed on Fridays). Women must cover their heads and wear long clothing; traditional robes are available for rent at the entrance. If you visit during prayer time, standing quietly in the courtyard to listen to the recitation enhances the sacred atmosphere.
