They must visit Wat Chulamani to pay respects to Thao Wessuwan, Samut Songkhram's famous deity. Even if you don't have your luck, bring your lucky numbers! This place is renowned for its mu-mu and merit-making traditions, which are constantly flocking to the temple. What I must tell you is that the chapel of Wat Chulamani isn't just a beautiful temple. The murals inside are incredibly stunning, stunningly beautiful. The paintings depict the life of the Buddha and various Buddhist stories, meticulously painted by ancient craftsmen. Construction began during the reign of King Rama V and took decades to complete. It's a true treasure that some people who come to worship only for the sake of seeing would be a real shame. After we were filled with merit and joy, it was time to grab some food. But we weren't going to the crowded Amphawa Floating Market. This trip, we'd like to take a detour to Bang Noi Floating Market. 📍 Bang Noi Floating Market Located in Wat Ko Kaeo, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province, this small market is open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. This small, off-the-beaten-path, low-key market offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is plentiful, and most importantly, it's authentic, sourced from local vendors, not bulk-sold goods. Prices are also friendly enough to keep your wallet from squeezing your stomach. There are hard-to-find Thai desserts, homemade rice and curry, and traditional herbal drinks. The friendly aunties and uncles are all there, making it feel like you've stepped into a documentary. After filling our bellies, we continued our stroll through Mae Klong town, intending to catch a glimpse of the trains pulling into the station, as seen in the pictures on social media. But no matter how hard we looked, we couldn't find them. Where'd the train go!? 🤔 The conclusion is, "It hasn't arrived yet!" Asking the locals, they told us that the arrival and departure times are set by the locals, and if you miss a turn, you'll be left waiting in vain. But that's okay, we found another great find: the Mae Klong Riverside Walking Street, right near the train station. The atmosphere is wonderful, it's a relaxing stroll, and there are many cute shops. And the one that caught our eye was... ☕️ Sutha Cafe — A vintage-style cafe offering coffee, desserts, and plenty of photo spots. Located right on the river, the atmosphere is incredibly chill, with a spot to sip coffee and watch the sunset romantically.
