This New Zealand Hotel Is Truly Divine

🌟Highlights: The hotel's main building offers hotel-style rooms, including high-floor rooms with snow mountain views, but they don't feel very cost-effective. There are also Lodges and Motels in different areas. The Lodge seems to be the most basic and cheapest option, but without the snow mountain view, it doesn't feel worth it. Since we were driving, we chose a Motel where we could park right outside the door. It had a backyard with a snow mountain view and a kitchen. If you don't want to order from the hotel restaurant, remember to buy groceries before heading into the mountains, as it seems only the Motels have kitchens. ❤Reasons to Recommend: Founded in 1884, this famous hotel has a history of over a century. It has stood the test of time and remains popular worldwide due to its prime location for viewing Mount Cook. "Hermit" means a recluse, and "Hermitage" refers to a recluse's lifestyle. The English name seems to better capture the hotel's essence: hidden in the mountains. 🍽Restaurant Recommendations: The buffet at the Alpine Restaurant can be booked in advance on the official website. It's the only place with hot food within a 1-hour drive, where you can enjoy the golden mountain views while you eat. 👍Most Recommended: You can book activities at the souvenir shop next to the hotel reception. The very popular Glacier Explorers tour can be booked here. It's a fun activity for all ages, allowing you to get up close to the glacial lake.
