One of the absolute highlights of my visit was the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal. As soon as you step inside, you’re surrounded by glowing blue light and intricate gold details. The altar is breathtaking, the ceiling sparkles with stars, and even the columns feel like artwork. Unlike many European cathedrals, the stained glass here doesn’t show Bible scenes—it tells the story of Montreal’s own religious history. I would’ve loved to hear the massive pipe organ in action—it’s one of the largest in the world. For lunch, I headed to LE CARTET, a lively, casual spot filled with locals on their lunch break. The vibe was warm, the food fresh and satisfying. Afterward, I wandered the nearby streets, past city halls, old banks, and beautiful stone façades that made me feel like I’d stepped into another time.
