Batad - tranquil village with 360° view

Batad is unique in that its rice terraces are stone-walled and it is a round valley offering 360° view if you are at the centre or panoramic view if you are on the side/cliff. I chose to stay here instead of Banaue due mainly to the setting explained above and the less development, which I didn't regret. I had to exchange cell reception and good wifi though. I also found that the people of Batad were very welcoming and warm. Greeting a visitor like me was common while I walked around the terraces. From the photos, you can see that you can enjoy magnificent views of the rice terraces from different angles depending on where you are. It's breathtaking! The walkway is quite small and, when linking between levels, can be quite steep. I recommend you have a certain level of physical fitness in order to enjoy the best of Batad.
