Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Jogashima is located on the Miura Peninsula. It is easily accessible from Tokyo, and you can get there directly from Shinagawa. From Shinagawa, take the Keihin Kyuko Keikyu Main Line Limited Express bound for Misakiguchi. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The fare is ¥950. You can travel at a discount by using the Misaki Maguro Ticket, a discount ticket issued by Keihin Kyuko. You can get to Jogashima by bus from Misakiguchi Station. Please note that there are few direct buses to Jogashima. From Misaki Port, you can cross the bridge to Jogashima. The hiking trail is about 1.2 kilometers long, so it is an easy stroll. The hiking trail is divided into a rocky area along the sea, a sandy beach course, and a daffodil road on the hill. If you walk along the sea from Jogashima Lighthouse on the west side of the island, you can see a spectacular view. If you walk along the rocks and sandy beach, you will come across the Umanose Cave and the Cormorant Observatory, which are spectacular spots. I was simply moved by the magnificent views created by nature. There are several restaurants on the island where you can enjoy fresh seafood dishes. It can get a little crowded at lunchtime, but it's very good value for money and highly recommended. There are many cute, friendly cats on the island, which are very relaxing.
