📍Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ✔️It is named after the first king of the Kingdom of Italy, Victor Emmanuel (Vittorio Emanuele) II. It was designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877. ✔️The structure connects Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Scala, and its front windows are arched arcades made of iron and glass. In addition to several restaurants, cafes, bars, and hotels, the Galleria has high-end shops, bookstores, etc. It is the largest shopping center in Italy and one of the three largest gallerias in Europe. The floor of this galleria, designed by Giuseppe Mengoni, features four unique mosaic designs, each depicting the three capitals of the Italian kingdom (Rome, Florence, Turin) and Milan. Rome is represented by Romulus and Remus (the twin brothers in Roman legend, Romulus being the legendary founder and first king of Rome) and a she-wolf, Florence by a lily, and Milan by a red cross on a white background. Then there is Turin, which is a small dancing bull, called "Torino" in Italian. According to popular belief, if you lift your heels and spin three times, you will be blessed with good luck in the area between the bull's two hind legs.
