The story of Sforza Castle in Milan

During the Renaissance, Italy was a land occupied by various family forces. Florence had the Medici, Rome had the Borgia, Ferrara had the Este, and Milan had the Sforza family. Although the Sforza Castle is called Sforza, it was not actually built by the Sforza family in the beginning, because the first family to rule Milan was actually the Viscontti family. The Sforza family has always been a mercenary family, that is, a family that is good at fighting and getting paid to do things. So if Naples paid them, they would help Naples fight, and if Florence paid them, they would help Florence fight Milan. This is roughly the concept. Francesco I, the first important elder of the Sforza family, actually helped others fight the Viscontti family in the beginning, but because the leader of the Viscontti family thought he was very powerful, he recruited him and finally married his daughter to him. Also, because the Viscontti family itself had no successor (that is, they had no children), the Sforza family later became the family that ruled Milan. It sounds a bit pitiful, but Viscontti still has a daughter representative (the girl who married Francesco I). Oh, by the way, if you don’t know how great Viscontti is, they actually built the Milan Cathedral. Do you understand? The Sforza Castle is obviously a defensive castle. It was once the residence of the Sforza family. It is famous in modern times because of the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. However, it was originally the most important residence of the family. During World War II, this castle was bombed like most museums in Italy.
