The famous Pompeii 🏛️

#localfinds Visiting Pompeii Archaeological Park was like stepping back in time. Located just a short train ride from Naples, the entrance fee was around €16, and it was worth every cent. The ruins of this ancient Roman city, preserved by volcanic ash, are simply awe-inspiring. Walking through the streets where people lived 2,000 years ago was surreal! You could still see frescoes on the walls, mosaics on the floors, and even remnants of daily life like shops and houses. The highlight for me was the Forum and the view of Mount Vesuvius in the background. It’s crazy to imagine how life was here before the eruption. The Amphitheatre was another incredible spot—standing there, I could almost hear the crowds. Plan for at least 3-4 hours to explore; it’s massive, and there’s so much to take in. Nearby, you can also visit the ruins of Herculaneum, or make a day trip out of climbing Mount Vesuvius itself, which is only about 30 minutes away by car.
