🏰 Beautiful riverside monastery 🏰

My family and I arrived at Melk Abbey on September 10, 2023. We took a bus from Vienna and arrived at the monastery in about an hour. The monastery is located on a mountain beside the Danube River. From a distance, the golden building looks particularly solemn against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds. We entered the monastery from the main gate and what came into view was a spacious hall. The walls of the hall are covered with exquisite murals depicting the history and culture of the monastery. We took a guided tour and visited various parts of the monastery. There is a marble hall in the monastery. The pillars and walls in the hall are carved from marble, which is very exquisite. There is also a library that houses a large collection of medieval manuscripts and books and is one of the most famous libraries in the world. The most famous attraction of the monastery is the church. The interior of the church is very richly decorated, and the frescoes on the ceiling are exquisite. The murals depict biblical stories and the history of the monastery in bright colors and lifelike manner. After visiting the monastery, we took a walk in the monastery garden. There are various kinds of flowers and plants planted in the garden, and the scenery is very beautiful. We also had lunch in the monastery's restaurant which was delicious. Visiting Melk Abbey gave us a deeper understanding of Austrian history and culture. This monastery is a treasure of Austria and a world cultural heritage.
