The museum is housed in an elegant, restored heritage building, offering an authentic glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the Baba and Nyonya families of old. The intricate woodwork, traditional furniture, and delicate porcelain displays were breathtaking, each piece telling a story of cultural blending and family legacy. I spent around 1–2 hours exploring the museum, which was the perfect amount of time to immerse myself in the history and culture of the Peranakan people. The entrance fee was RM 15 for adults and RM 10 for students, making it a very affordable way to discover a unique part of Malaysian history. The museum’s ambience was serene and immersive, with its vintage décor and peaceful atmosphere, making it feel like stepping into another era. The knowledgeable staff were friendly and eager to share insights, making the experience all the more enriching. The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a brief break between 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. To get there, I took a short walk from Jonker Street—it’s centrally located and easy to find. It’s definitely worth making time for if you’re in Melaka, as it’s one of the best places to learn about the Baba Nyonya culture in an authentic setting.
