Asada, a specialty soba restaurant in Matsumoto, Nagano

#Travelingwithme There are many soba restaurants in Matsumoto that are particular about their soba. Both Nomugi and Sanjo have limited menus, and there are no unorthodox side dishes like tempura. But the soba is exceptional! ・ Asada is one of them. From the moment we entered, the owner was there to help us choose our menu. That said, there are three types of soba: Zaru, Juwari, and warm Kinokosoba. As per the owner's recommendation, all three of us chose Juwari. We couldn't decide on Kinokosoba, so we tried to order the mushrooms with grated daikon radish on the appetizer menu, but the notice said that it was only available to those who order sake. My father was planning to drink from noon, so I asked if one bottle of sake and three grated daikon radish would be okay, and he refused, as expected. Maybe that's why the shiitake mushrooms with spicy radish that he shared with us were so delicious. I think this goes well with 100% soba noodles, owner!
