[Shimane, Matsue] Enjoy the clam bowl from Lake Shinji!

Matsue is famous for the clams caught in Lake Shinji. It boasts the largest clam catch in Japan, and is widely known nationwide as a major producer of Yamato clams. The first meal I chose on this solo trip was a clam bowl. I visited a restaurant called "Kisetsu no Kazegura." The clam bowl, a Matsue specialty, was small but packed with clams. And the clam soup had a great flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the clams from Lake Shinji. Then, before heading home, I bought some clams as souvenirs at Matsue Station!
