A Stylish Synagogue

The Slat Al Azama Synagogue is the last surviving, still-in-use synagogue in the old Jewish quarter of Marrakesh. There used to be 40 synagogues but over the centuries the Jewish population in Marrakesh has dwindled. The synagogue is believed to have been founded in 1492 when they Jewish people were expelled from Spain and invited to Morocco by the Sultan. The Slat Al Azama Synagogue is a really amazing piece of history. #celebrateit #synagogue #marrakesh
