The Bonifacio and the Katipunan Revolution Monument, situated within the grounds of the Bonifacio Shrine, and designed by Filipino sculptor Eduardo Castrillo, was unveiled in 1998.The Katipunan (aka KKK -no associations with Ku Klux Klan) was a Philippine revolutionary society founded by anti-Spanish Filipinos in Manila in 1892, whose primary aim was to gain independence from Spain through revolution. Minor Basilica of San Sebastian and Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Archdiocese of Manila)

Manilaโ€™s got hidden architectural gems and, trust me, these are worth your camera roll! ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ• If youโ€™re all about epic vibes, the Minor Basilica of San Sebastian and Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are two must-see spots that seriously stand out from Manilaโ€™s modern hustle. Must-See Places: 1. Minor Basilica of #sansebastiancathedral (San Sebastian and Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Archdiocese of Manila)) Pasaje del Carmen St, Quiapo, Manila, 1001 Metro #manila, Philippines Hours: open 6:30 AMโ€“6 PM, but double-check before you go. Free entry. Whatโ€™s special? Think: towering spires, stained glass, and ironwork that give off that rare, old-school European feel in Southeast Asia. ๐Ÿฐ Architectural lovers, donโ€™t miss this! Pro Tips: - The church isnโ€™t far from the airport; itโ€™s just about a 35-minute Grab ride away, making it a chill first stop. - Grab (the rideshare app) is your best bet for stress-free transport. No need for cash; pay via card or in-app wallet. - Snap photos of the interiors but be respectful during ongoing services. - The area around Quiapo offers street eats and local snacks, so try some โ€œkwek-kwekโ€ (fried quail eggs) or โ€œhalo-haloโ€ right after your visit! ๐Ÿง Getting There & Around: Manilaโ€™s traffic can get wild, but taking a Grab to this spot keeps things simple. If youโ€™re bouncing to other sights nearby, short walks or quick rides work best. Quick Tips: Cash is king in Manilaโ€™s street markets and snack stalls. No visa needed for up to 30 days for most nationalities. Weather gets hot and humidโ€”dress light! #ManilaSpots #GothicManila #TravelTipsPH #PhilippinesGuide
