Olive trees in Malta

It is not difficult to spot olive trees while strolling the sidewalks of Valletta in the autumn. In fact, olive trees have a long history of existence in the island of Malta as they had been introduced by the Phoenician seafarers in the 1st millenium B.C. I was here in mid-October and it was just the beginning of autumn and the olives are still not too ripe. But soon, the olives will be ripe and scattered all over the ground.
