Malaysia | Fraser Hill, a bird watching destination

Malaysia is located in the tropics. Its lush rainforests breed a diversity of birds, making it a bird-watching paradise. A total of 795 bird species have been recorded in Malaysia. This time we came to Fraser Hill in Pahang, which was developed by the British in 1890. Fraser Hill is located at an altitude of 700 meters from the lowest point to the highest point of 1,524 meters. It belongs to the highland tropical rainforest. Some Malaysian endemic species and alpine tit species can be found here. On the first day we arrived at Fraser Hill, at noon, we drove up the mountain along the low gate. We stopped by the roadside on the way to search for helmeted hornbills. The bird guide said that the helmeted hornbill is a critically endangered species and he only knew of five pairs left. Luckily we were able to see one. It is too hot at noon, so birds are more active in the early morning and evening. After a short rest, we went to Hemmant Trail for bird watching in the evening. First, we encountered two colorful birds on the roadside, one was the Great Flycatcher with bright blue color and the other was the Brown-browed Flycatcher. The next morning, we came to the garden next to another house. There were already many bird lovers of other nationalities waiting there. The birds and squirrels here are not shy. We encountered a bright green Flamewing and a small spotted flycatcher very close by. We were leaving Fraser Hill on the morning of the third day, and we finally encountered a bright green blue-green magpie, which brought a perfect end to our three-day and two-night trip to Fraser Hill. #OverseasTourism #Malaysia #Birdwatching #Eco-tourism #NaturalTour
