Wat Chong Kham

Wat Chong Kham or Wat Chong Kham Royal Monastery This temple was built in 1797 and is the first temple in Mae Hong Son. It is an ancient temple built in the Tai Yai style. The highlight is the nine-tiered roof and the important religious site is the Wihan Luang Pho To, which is the largest Buddha statue in Mae Hong Son. It was built in 1934 by Burmese craftsmen. The Wihan enshrines Luang Pho To, the principal Buddha statue, built in 1926 by Burmese craftsmen. There is also a large Buddha statue that is a replica of Phra Sri Sakyamuni at the Wihan of Wat Suthat.
