Phra That Doi Kong Mu

Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu is a sacred temple of Mae Hong Son Province for a long time. It is located on Doi Kong Mu, only 3 km west of Mae Hong Son town. Take Highway 108 at the Phraya Singhanatracha Monument and go left. It is a paved road up the mountain for about 1.5 km and you will reach Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu. Originally called Wat Plai Doi, it consists of 2 beautiful chedis. The large chedi was built by Chong Tong Su in 1860 and contains the relics of Phra Moggallana Thera, which were brought from Burma. The small chedi was built in 1874 by Phraya Singhanatracha, the first governor of Mae Hong Son. From Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, you can clearly see the landscape and the city of Mae Hong Son and it is very beautiful.
