Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu

Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu is an important temple located on the summit of Doi Kong Mu in the heart of Mae Hong Son city. This significant temple is used for important Buddhist ceremonies in the province. You can drive up to the temple or walk up the Naga stairs, which is not difficult. From the viewpoint, you can see the entire Mae Hong Son city and its airport clearly. The highlight of the temple is the pair of Tai Yai-Burmese style pagodas. In front of the pagodas, there is a bell. It is believed that if you ring this bell, you will return to Mae Hong Son as many times as you ring it. Not far from there, the temple's coffee shop offers a place to sit and enjoy coffee while taking in the city view. This spot is ideal for watching the sunrise and the sea of mist covering Mae Hong Son during the winter. On the other side, there is a path leading up to the temple's ordination hall.
