The statue of Our Lady of Kun Iam stands at the harbor end of the park. Dr. Carlos D’Assumpção Park is very popular amongst locals. Surrounded by offices and residences, it’s ideal for a quick walk during lunch time, or just relax at one of the many benches spaced throughout the park. The park–together with the other nearby Arts Garden–was designed by Portuguese architect Francisco Caldeira Cabral and features a modern combination of both Chinese elements and Portuguese ones (Portuguese cobblestones). Both parks are linked and include pieces of art, but also seating areas, a kiosk, lakes and more. With 10,500 square metres, it’s big enough to chill and relax alone or together with friends.
