Academia and Ocean Views: A Stroll through the University of Macau and Coloane

In the early morning, I arrived at the University of Macau located on Hengqin Island. This academic institution is nestled among lush green hills and clear waters, with a spacious and tranquil campus. I strolled along the lakeside, admiring the blend of European and modern architectural styles. Stepping into the library, sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm glow on the bookshelves, where students were engrossed in their studies, creating a serene academic atmosphere. I sat down at a campus café, ordered a rich cup of coffee, and soaked in the unique charm of this scholarly place. In the afternoon, I visited the tranquil St. Francis Xavier Chapel in Coloane. This small chapel, painted in alternating yellow and white, stands quietly by the sea, contrasting beautifully with the blue sky and white clouds. I pushed open the wooden door, and inside, the flickering candlelight, murals, and statues exuded a solemn ambiance. Exiting the chapel, I wandered along the cobblestone streets, savoring a freshly baked Portuguese egg tart, its sweetness melting in my mouth. The gentle afternoon sea breeze added to the sense of contentment.
