Macau | Four Yuanmingyuan Zodiac Heads on Display at MGM Cotai Museum

On this trip to Macau, I was lucky enough to see four original Yuanmingyuan zodiac heads on display at the MGM Cotai Museum. I went to see them and taught my child about the history of the Yuanmingyuan zodiac heads. 📍Address: MGM Cotai Museum, 2/F, MGM Cotai, Macau 🚗Transportation: Take the MGM Cotai shuttle bus from the Macau border. Note that MGM Cotai and MGM Macau are different places! 🕙Opening Hours: 1. Nov 2, 2024–Sep 30, 2025 (I heard that the four zodiac heads will be replaced with replicas in February) 2. Mon–Thu: 11:00–19:00 Fri: 11:00–21:00 Sat/Sun and public holidays: 10:00–20:00 Lunar New Year: Jan 28–Feb 4, 10:00–20:00 🌟Highlights: 1. The first exhibition at the MGM Cotai Museum is called "Blue Ribbon: Exploring the Mysterious Sea and Encountering the Treasures of the Silk Road." It was curated by a team of experts from China, Italy, and France. 2. The exhibition features 228 rare cultural relics and art masterpieces from nearly 20 state-owned museums and international cultural and art institutions, including nearly 30 national first-class cultural relics. 3. Some display cases present dynamic effects, allowing visitors to use touch screens or gestures to view the details of the relics from 360 degrees and learn about their materials, craftsmanship, and stories. 4. The display cases are made of non-reflective glass, making it easy to take photos! 📌Tips: 1. Admission is free. You can also get tickets on-site, but they are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis). 2. Food and drinks must be stored in lockers. They will be checked at the entrance.
