The Macau Grand Prix Museum offers an exhilarating experience for visitors. I traveled through the Qingmao Port and here's a quick guide: Take bus 23 or 29 from the Qingzhou Water Company Station (M25) and get off at the Golden Lotus Square Station. A short walk will lead you to the museum. 

🏎️ The museum showcases the race cars of many legendary drivers, such as Schumacher and Senna, along with numerous Formula cars and motorcycles. 

🏍️ Visitors can enjoy interactive experiences like VR motorcycle racing (compete with a friend) and a simulated pit stop. Inside, there are staff-led tours and documentary films to watch. The staff are very friendly, and you even receive a visitor card as a keepsake. It's truly a wonderful experience.

The Golden Lotus Square is a famous landmark and tourist attraction in the Macao Special Administrative Region. It is located between Rua do Gomes, Avenida Besita and Avenida de Amigo in the New Port of Macao. The square was built to celebrate the handover of Macao&#39;s sovereignty in 1999. The main landscape on the square is a sculpture called &quot;Lotus of the Flourishing Age&quot;, which was presented by the Central People&#39;s Government of the People&#39;s Republic of China.

The main part of the sculpture &quot;Lotus of the Flourishing Age&quot; consists of flower stems, petals and stamens. There are 16 shapes in total. It is cast in bronze with gold on the surface. It weighs 6.5 tons and is 6 meters high. The maximum diameter of the flower body is 3.6 meters. The base is composed of 23 overlapping red granites, which symbolize the three islands of Macao. Lotus is the regional flower of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The blooming lotus symbolizes the prosperity of Macao.

The Golden Lotus Square is not only a must-see attraction for tourists, but also an important place for the Macao Special Administrative Region Government to hold national flag raising and regional flag ceremonies on National Day and Macao&#39;s return anniversary every year. Usually, the square holds a flag-raising ceremony at 8 am every day and a flag-lowering ceremony at 6 pm.

The square is strategically located near the Golden Sands Hotel and across from the sea. It is the only way to reach famous attractions such as Fisherman&#39;s Wharf and Guia Lighthouse. Although the square is not large, it is open and clean. The first thing that catches your eye is the national flag and the flag of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Further in is the famous Lotus sculpture.

The Golden Lotus Square is open all day and no tickets are required. Visitors can visit freely. Attractions near the square include the Grand Jam Museum and the Wine Museum, as well as the Variety Hall. These places can be considered for the same route.

Adult tickets are 80 (MOP) on site, but only 58 (RMB) on Ctrip. Remember to buy tickets in advance. Seniors and children are half price, and it seems that they are only available on site.
Don&#39;t worry about what to do if your children don&#39;t like racing? There are many experience projects (with height and age restrictions), but you can always find something to play. A one-stop visit will not go the wrong way, and it won&#39;t be very tiring. We went on a weekday during the winter vacation, and there weren&#39;t many people.

5-Day Hong Kong & Macau Itinerary: Explore the Best of Both Cities!

During a casual City walk in Macau, I stumbled upon the surprisingly entertaining Macau Grand Prix Museum! Located next to the Lotus Square, tickets need to be purchased online at least half an hour in advance. However, we bought ours on-site. Note that mainland student IDs are not accepted, and tickets are priced around 70 to 80 MOP. An unexpected delight was receiving a Lego 30343 building pack, which might be a limited-time offer. You can collect it at a designated store; we conveniently picked ours up at the Grand Canal Shoppes while visiting the Venetian in the afternoon!

The museum houses real racing cars, making it a must-see. Visitors receive a card upon entry that can be used for various interactive experiences. There's also a thrilling 10-minute film shown on the hour, and staff will remind you if it's about to start (we were just in time, thanks to a staff member's prompt!). It's worth checking the schedule in advance. The film is so exhilarating that it might inspire you to visit Macau again during the Macau Grand Prix! Don't forget to collect the free stamps available!

For racing enthusiasts, the Macau Grand Prix Museum is a dream come true. The museum spans four floors, and it's recommended to start your visit from the top floor and work your way down. 

On the ground floor, which is also the entrance, you can pick up a lanyard for your admission pass and a large promotional leaflet. Activating your admission pass here will make your subsequent visit more convenient. You can take all these materials home as souvenirs after your visit, which is quite meaningful.

The second floor is dedicated to the Macau Grand Prix Motorcycle Race. Here, you'll find cool motorcycles from past champions and wax figures of legendary riders like Robert Dunlop and Michael Rutter. There's also a display showing the disassembly of an electric race bike to help you understand its structure. A trophy display showcases the creative designs of past championship trophies. There are two interactive zones: a VR experience that lets you feel the thrill of racing on the Guia Circuit from a rider's perspective, and an electric race simulator where you can try your hand at being a racer. However, if you're new to electric racing, it might be a bit challenging to control.

The first floor is all about the Macau Grand Prix. This floor is packed with exhibits, including early race cars that show the evolution of racing vehicles, beautiful classic champion cars, and wax figures of legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, and Sebastian Vettel. Outside, there's a creative and spectacular sculpture of Senna. You can also see a limited-edition chocolate Formula 1 car, which smells amazing! The interactive zones here include an F3 driving simulator, a gravity speed challenge, and a driver reaction challenge. All three are incredibly fun and worth trying! There's also an LED touchscreen photo area in the hallway where you can take pictures with your favorite cars or create poster-style photos.

The basement level features the Macau Guia Race and Macau GT Cup. This area includes a section with signed items from drivers, such as helmets, gloves, and clothing. There's also a classic Ford vintage car, which is quite retro! The race car displays are still very rich, and it's thrilling to see classic champion cars up close. The race experience area offers a comprehensive immersive experience from the race command center to the awards podium.

If you missed the Wynn Car Show and can't make it to the Grand Prix, head over to the Macau Grand Prix Museum for a visit. The museum spans four floors and offers an excellent interactive experience. You can ride a VR motorcycle or drive a simulator, among many other activities. 

There is a guided tour route, just follow the arrows on the ground. The explanations are available in Mandarin and Cantonese, and the friendly staff will inform you upon entry. Once again, I must praise the friendliness of the people in Macau! The entrance fee is quite affordable, just over 50 MOP. You can take the card and lanyard with you, and there's a souvenir shop at the exit.

Recently, I visited the Macau Grand Prix Museum while meeting a friend at MPI. Macau has a rich history of hosting races, and this year, the F3 race is expected to return, which is exciting! The museum is divided into three sections, and upon arrival, you need to purchase a ticket at the entrance, which you can exchange for a badge to access the exhibits.

Upon entry, there's a digital check-in where you can input your name and preferences on a screen. This allows you to play games or design racing suits, with scores and images sent to your email. The first floor mainly showcases the history and past car models. Staff will guide you to a cool escalator leading to the Grand Prix Motorcycle Race Exhibition Hall. Here, you can experience the AR racetrack by wearing virtual reality glasses and riding a motorcycle, which gives a thrilling racing sensation.

Next, you can explore the history of F3 racing, with two interactive games available: a reaction test with light buttons and an F3 simulator. Sitting in the simulator is quite challenging due to the low seating position, but the experience is exhilarating. I even took a photo with the F3 car used by my idol, Hamilton!

There's also an area where you can design your own racing suit and view AMG car models and engines. You can try a tire-changing game, which took me 19.8 seconds. The tires are really heavy!

Local residents and tourists have different pricing, but students from Macau can enter for free with a student ID. My friend and I enjoyed a free visit, which was delightful! The museum is located at the Macau Tourism Activities Center on Avenida de Guimarães, just 100 meters from the Macau Polytechnic Institute.

2. Enjoyability: The museum is small but highly engaging, offering activities from Lego building for kids to F3 simulators for adults. We spent three hours there, including queue times.

3. Excellent Service: The staff are enthusiastic and patient, with most able to communicate in Mandarin, except for some South Asian employees.

4. Souvenirs and Dining: The souvenirs lack creativity and quality, and there are no water sales or drinking fountains inside, so bring your own water. There are no dining options inside, but many good restaurants are nearby, such as 'Food is Fortune,' just a 200-meter walk away.

5. Interactive Equipment Quality: The electric motorcycle equipment is subpar, with slippery throttle controls. The VR motorcycle equipment is distorted and only for viewing due to safety reasons. The F3 simulator is professional but has long queues, averaging five minutes per person, so prepare for a 30-minute wait. The children's version has shorter queues. The tire-changing equipment is moderately realistic and suitable for children. Lego activities can keep kids entertained for a long time.

6. Professionalism: The museum is highly professional from both a car enthusiast's and a child's learning perspective.

7. Transportation: Hotel shuttle buses can reach nearby, and it's close to several famous attractions.

8. Payment Methods: Accepts Alipay, WeChat Pay, and cash.

Note: The museum is closed every Tuesday, so plan your visit accordingly.

We visited this place over a decade ago, and now after the renovation, we came back to see the new additions. There are many new cars and games to play. Although not all activities are suitable for children, it means adults won't have to compete with kids for the games 🤣. Adults can enjoy the thrill of racing, while children can learn about racing and famous drivers from around the world. It's definitely a must-visit spot for both kids and adults in Macau.
